Android myWay

android, the new or should i say old? Its been a long since this OS was introduced and newer and newer versions were rolled out.
Taking a new fone is like your baby whom you will care for atleast couple of years if you find it worth.
I have been using Windows mobile with all added softwares to enhance its experience, Android powered mobile was a challenge in itself after using such a powerful OS and software support. But to my surprise with my new LG GW620 purchased in March 2010, Android stands its expectations.

Beautiful UI, widgets and lots of free softwares...
my GW comes with GPS, 3G, Wifi and no of email clients.
With the original Gmail provided by google, it has other email clients which allows you to access Pop3 mails from Hotmail, another gmail and Yahoo (if you have paid for pop3).

Whats the benefit over WM is its basically free, what problems it can face is version dependency. Android released 1.5 . . . and latest 2.1 in very short period of time thou most of us are still on 1.5, costlier handsets are offering 2.1

WM softwares are more matured as compared to android as its an comparatively old OS. But in time to come with players such as HTC taking interest, the OS will be as popular as WM.

The advantages of GW can be checked on google so i wont post it again, best part is its affordable, thou that word has different meaning now a days, still what i meant was below 20K perhaps arnd 15K.

Im Exploring the new capabilities of android such as GPS, Wifi, net experience and im baffled with the results. GPS softwares are available and GPRS is to be activated in order to use that mapping tool. One more map software is available for people who want offlien maps. The software is called as RMAPS and it works amazing, the new functionality expected is routing which is currently not present.

Any software to be installed is via APK format
For this you need to install apps installer from Android market which you can download using GPRS as that it self is an APK. then that apps installer will detect your downloads and you can see what you can and what you cant do with ur Android..

Happy googling with Android...

Googlomania

Hey guys Have you ever thought how this world would be without Google....
No huh

ok let me give you few things which i feel google has given to this world
Gmail: an intersting way of emailing along with its unmatched space and unbelievable tools such as inbuilt Gtalk, filters, mail forwarding (dat to free, Yahoo /MSN gives but at a cost), Lables and so on...
Calender: Now you have your calender on the web all the time, manage your stuffs on line with an innovative facility to send a reminder of meetings/ appointments on your preregistered Cell phone, (yes, if you havent seen yet, chek it out) email reminders, facility to share your calender with frens n also some public calenders such as holiday calender (mostly very important to anyone and everyone).
Import / export are the best options which you can have with the calenders. Offline no worries prepare the stuff and upload the outlook file or XLS file to match the web calenders. Not to worry @ cell phone as it delivers the msgs based on phone number. thus if u loose a cell phone, you can reactivate the same number and your calender is intact thou you have an option of changin cell number (most of the guys, specially teenagers change the nos ofter as Cell service providers or the operators change the plans to achieve more customer base).
On top of it, now has SMS CHANNEL, the best till date which i believe.
Now this service is in BETA phase but Google India has given us this smart tool to be updated all the times with this free incoming SMS service. All you need to do is to validate your cell no(which is a piece of cake, 5 mins, sorry i assume some of us are still on landline RJ11 connection and not on broadband, so i have increased this time from 1 min to 5 mins hehehehe ) and you are done, subscribe to channel of your interest, such as News, Weather, Cricket score (most useful, as im an avid cricket lover, just created a Channel for INDIA AUSTRALIA series), Football live scores etc etc.
THis is very interesting service as it provides an option of use of RSS which is used widely for instant updates on imp things... THis is a freee, YES Free service offered by Google.
This is on BETA and developed by Google India LABS, Yes, i know Genius INDIA
you have addition functions such as time in and out which enables time to be specified during which you will get SMS, e.g. 10AM to 06 PM thus the SMS sent by SMS CHANNEL will be availabel from 10 AM till 06 PM and you wont get any SMS after that, (maintain Local time, IST in settings)
Most amazing thing is you can even SMS your subscribed members manually. You can send Mass SMS manually and give rights to poSt to anyone. This needs, you to be a creator of SMS CHANNEL.

Few more things which interest me are:

G Bookmarks, G Documents, G Reader (for always connected guys), G MAPS, G NEWS, G iGoogle (interactive service which enables dashboard view for chosen types of information, Yahoo/MSN has it now but still Google rocks), G Translator and many more

You can check the latest at :
http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/
http://www.google.co.in/intl/en/options/

All this under the name of GOOGLE, GO GOOGLE GO
wait for next blog when google comes with a Grand techi stuff...Till then happy Googling

BSNL 2 - 8 unlimited... Make use of this...

Just shifted to unlimited night plan of BSNL (500 C)
now all of us have same prob of connecting internet at 2AM and disconnecting it before 8.

Let me guide you to achieve this...

1. Autometically starting your machine.
Thru BIOS > select Auto start on Alarm. Select Date time and save to exit.
This ALARM option can be set for specific date or daily. To work this properly you need to SHUT DOWN your PC and dont hybernate.
logon at 1:57AM

2. Autometically LOGON to userid
To autologon you can use
a) goto RUN > type "Control userpasswords2" this works onyl for windows XP Pro
Unselect userid password needed to logon tickbox and then save password when prompted.
b) Use Tweakui to auto logon your PC

3. Use task scheduler to run a bat file, the contents of which are as follows, Open notepad and write in

RASDIAL.EXE DATAONE USERID PASSWORD

DATAONE is connection name
userid is your userid and password is your password

SAVE THIS FILE WITH EXTENTION .bat
Schedule this at say 5 to 7 min gap from Windows starting time based on your computer speed.

Schedule at 2.07AM Dont schedule early so as to safeguard some time issues of BSNL

4. Use Task scheduler to start your torrent software which should have few torrents in place so as to start torrent download.

Schedule at 2.10AM

5. Use auto disconnect software to disconnect net else you can use
rasdial.exe disconnect dataone
and save the file with autodis.bat and use task scheduler to run at 7:55 AM

6. you can even use utorrent to shut your pc down if you are downloading single torrent.
